Your District Council has now taken over, from the County Council, the management of the grass cutting. John O’Conner remains the contractor and not only are they responsible for cutting the grass, but also for strimming work and using blowers to clear cut grass from footways.
There have been teething problems with this new contract and numerous complaints were received by your councillors. “As more people have been taking daily walks during lockdown, grass cuttings left lying around have become a problem” said Councillor Gill Clark. She sought clarification of the contract and has an assurance that the clearing of grass cuttings from footways is part of that contract so Cllr. Clark asks “please contact the District Council, or one of your local District councillors, if you experience problems with the grass cutting service in the future”.
